Heist Simulator
Heist Simulator
Okay, here's how to get rich:
- Make a plan
- Grab some diamonds
- Don´t get caught
If that didn' t work, well... it's all about the plan.
Controls:
Use the mouse to select things and press buttons. Right mouse button generally cancels. The UI is very primitive, some patience required.
How to play:
When you start, select a level and press Start. You will now be in plan mode. In this mode you can select a heister (a playable character, a participant in the heist) and add actions to it's schedule. Available actions are:
- move to - select a position to move to; the heister will automatically find a path around walls
- grab item - heister must be next to the a diamond to grab it
- escape - heister must be next to the a escape vehicle to escape; note that these look like upwards pointing arrows (eh?)
On top of the screen is a clock (minutes::econds) and buttons to control time Time can be moved backwards and forwards. You will see a preview of the heisters positions at the selected time.
Note that you can only add and remove actions at the end of a heister's schedule. Set the clock to a time after all actions are complete, or click on the last item in the schedule to jump to that action end time. You can insert a pause by moving time forward and then adding an action.
Press the execute button, below the clock, to execute the plan.
The plan will probably not go quite as expected, because there will be guards that were not there during planning.
Guards will move towards the nearest heister they can see, and kill them if they get close. The general strategy is to run away from them, and perhaps lead them away from the other heisters.
The heist is over when no heisters have any more actions on their schedule. You will be ranked depending on how many heisters have escaped, are killed or left behind, and how much loot you got away with. The highest rank is Kingpin, achieved when all loot is collected and all heisters have escaped.
Dev log:
Made for Lame Jam #67, theme: Heist
I thought this was going to be a simple project, but getting the game logic right turned out to be way more complicated than anticipated. There are currently only two very basic levels. Plenty of ideas for more features, but killed due to lack of time.
